Frequently
Asked
Questions

What can I expect from a session?

I begin working with every client or family by offering a 45-minute complimentary consult call. In this call, we can get to know each other a little bit, talk about your concerns and hopes for therapy, and learn about what I can offer.

Following your 45-minute complimentary consult call, we will get you booked in for your first session. In your first session, we might begin to learn about what brought you to the therapy room and what you hope to get out of our sessions. I like to work collaboratively to figure out what approach to therapy might work best for you or your family!

How long is a session?

Session length is completely up to you! Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. However, I also offer longer sessions (80 minutes) if we feel that may be helpful for you! Many families prefer 80 minute sessions for family therapy sessions.

How much does a session cost?

Each 50 minute session is $220, as per the Recommended Fee Schedule from the Psychologists' Association of Alberta. If you have mental health coverage through your private benefits, you should be able to submit our sessions! I am also finalizing direct billing options with a few insurance companies, feel free to ask me prior to our first session about direct billing options!

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions completely depends on each individual, their concerns, and their financial situation. My main priority is to work together to foster positive change and promote wellness. We will have ongoing and collabortive conversations about when you are ready to transition out of therapy.

How often should I book sessions?

Typically I recommend individuals start with weekly sessions if possible. This provides an opportunity for us to work more collaboratively and connect on a regular basis as the therapuetic process begins. After this, the frequency of sessions is completely up to you! We can move to once every two weeks, monthly, or any variation that fits best for you.
